Happiness is more than a good feeling or a smiley face.
It’s the feeling of truly enjoying your life and the desire to make the very best of it.
Happiness is the “secret sauce” that can help us be & do our best.

In other words, happiness comes when you feel satisfied & fulfilled.
Happiness is a feeling of contentment, that life is just as it should be.

Happiness has various impacts on your well-being.

Happy people are more successful.
Happy people are better at reaching goals.
Happy people are healthier & live longer.
Happy people have better relationships.
Happy people learn better.

Having a sense of purpose is good for our well-being and happiness.
It improves our resilience to stress & even our ability to think.

Having a purpose means different things to different people.
To me, it means having a reason to get up in the morning, to feel like I’m contributing to the world in some way, & to have a sense of direction in my life.❤️

Feeling some positive emotions every day has a significant effect on our happiness and well-being.
That’s why it’s so important to do things that give us positive feelings.

Even simple actions like playing with a child or a pet or going for a walk outdoors can inspire these feelings.
Strengths and Interests
The things we’re good at, and like to do, are our strengths.
We all have strengths, even if we haven’t discovered them yet.
It includes:
The things we’re interested in — for example, music, art, science, building things, cooking, reading.
Skills we have — like painting, playing an instrument, or playing a sport.
Good qualities — kindness, humor, or leadership.

Happiness increases when we discover a strength & practice it.?
When we get good at doing something we enjoy, we can get lost in it.
That’s called flow.
Experiencing flow helps boost happiness.?

Finding daily ways to use our strengths is a crucial ingredient for a happy life.

Four primary chemicals can drive the positive emotions you feel throughout the day:
dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins ( D.O.S.E.).

Dopamine- causes that little happy feeling when someone likes your post on Instagram,
fills in a checkbox, or completes a small task. (INSTANT GRATIFICATION)

Oxytocin- is often affectionately referred to as the “hugging drug.” ?
The brain releases it during physical contact with others. ( LOVE HORMONE))

Serotonin- plays a role in the dynamics of pride, loyalty, and status.
When we feel a sense of accomplishment /recognition from others, (LEADERSHIP HORMONE)?

Endorphins- Do you know that feeling that runners talk about getting on long runs?
That feeling comes from endorphins, it’s released in response to pain.
They help us push our bodies beyond their comfort levels. (THE RUNNER’S HIGH)??‍♀️?‍♂️

Are you taking your daily D.O.S.E. of happiness?
